Hi, I’m Athena Mishra.
I'm a 3D artist with specialisations in Rigging, Hard Surface Modelling and Animation, and an illustrator, as well as a traditional fine artist. I am a versatile person who also enjoys technical tasks, and I believe in designing and communicating in a manner that doesn't create friction for the next person in the production chain. I work well on projects and tasks that challenge me, and am always looking to find ways to innovate, automate and speed up repetitive tasks that are necessary but time consuming and logistically complex. I'm a firm believer in the fact that any problem can be easily overcome by breaking it into smaller, objectionable tasks and delegating those tasks where possible.
On a personal level, I'm someone who believes in giving back to the world in whatever way I can, doing my best to ensure that the people around me are looked after. I love using my creativity not just in my art and writing, but for my wit and charm and to bring a whimsical quality everywhere I go and to everything I do.

·Animation Movie- ‘Upstairs Neighbour’ – selected for screening at MOVE Summit- worked to make the rig expressive without the use of dialogue and completed within deadlines with brilliant reviews
·Animation Movie- ‘Origami’ – Winner of 2024 Domeble Symmetri Platinum Award – worked as 3D Assistant Animator to provide crisp and clear animations for 3D rigs of an adult woman and a girl child. The movie won Platinum award -beyond then highest category of Gold

01/2024 – 05/2025 Upstairs Neighbour: 3D short film
3D rigging for one of the main characters (bipedal). Worked to make the rig expressive without the use of dialogue. Also made a higher-poly 3D modelling interior of an apartment. Working together with team members and constantly working within deadlines and with constructive feedback.
09/2023- 05/2024 Assistant Animator on Origami (winner of 2024 Domeble Symmetri Awards Platinum)
Worked with 3D rigs of an adult woman and a girl child to create crisp, clear animations, and animate the characters interacting with props and the environment according to the brief given by the director.
09/2023- 12/2023 Developed and pitched a mock pitch for a TV show
Team Project. Did work for backgrounds and the vehicle. Used 3D to model exterior and interior of the vehicle, to help the 2D artists and animators maintain uniformity while drawing. Worked to present work in the manner of a pitch, such that it is concise and easy for the other party to understand.

Responded to inquiries from potential applicants regarding admissions processes, financial aid options and other relevant topics. Assisted in coordinating events such as international exhibitions, visits from colleges with prospective students. Maintained professionalism and efficiency while working closely with leadership.

Collaborated with executive team members on major decisions regarding society-wide initiatives. Organized special projects such as guest lectures and social spaces. Final Year Dissertation on ‘Environments as a character and how they impact the impressions and takeaways of the audience.’
The research was conducted in two main ways, the primary by interviewing professionals already specialising in the field of backgrounds and surveying the general audience not in that field (survey reached 150+ responses), and the secondary by studying films and analysing how the background added to the story being played out by the characters.
The aim of the dissertation was to combine both perspectives and come to a consensus on the importance of backgrounds in film and TV, as well as figure out ways to best utilize them.
